In Iowa and Indiana we explore notable installations of imaginatively-conceived organs by American builders Lynn Dobson and Daniel Jaeckel.
These two mechanical-action instruments — the 22-stop Dobson and 17-stop Jaeckel (in the manner of Gottfried Silbermann) — prove that modest specifications, thoughtful design, and supportive rooms can yield superb organistic results.
