Included are comments from friends and colleagues Larry and Diane Biser, Tom Dressler, and Eric Plutz.  Larry Biser is author/editor of Joan Lippincott: The Gift of Music, a celebratory volume published in 2013 by the Organ Historical Society containing a brief biography and essays and tributes by 21 of Joan’s former students and associates.

Students at Westminster Choir College found that Bach’s Organ Prelude in C, BWV 547 perfectly fit their teacher’s last name, with the ten notes of its rising scalar opening theme matching perfectly with the letters…L-I-P-P-I-N-C-O-T-T…and the downward step-wise pedal theme neatly linked with, “Hello, my name is Joan!”

A program of chamber music with organ (using Joan’s former house instrument, Paul Fritts Opus 21) will take place at 7 p.m. on October 3 in the Gambrell Room/Scheide Hall on the grounds of Princeton Theological Seminary, followed by a memorial service at Princeton University Chapel at 11 a.m. on October 4.

PIPEDREAMS is supported in loving memory of Lucinda and Wesley Dudley by their family, with additional support from Walter McCarthy, Clara Ueland, and the Greystone Foundation, from Ed and Wanda Eichler, and from Syndyne Corporation of Vancouver, WA, and Taylor & Boody Organ Builders of Staunton, VA, members of APOBA, the Associated Pipe Organ Builders of America, a collaborative of designers, creators, and maintainers of pipe organs found in religious and educational institutions, concert halls, and residences throughout the United States and beyond.
