PIPEDREAMS host Michael Barone makes occasional in-person guest appearances here and there.  Below are some upcoming involvements: 

October 18 at 7 p.m. Michael Barone will provide narration for the premiere performance of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” for organ, narrator and dancers by the late Canadian composer Rachel Laurin (1961-2023).  The piece, based on Washington Irving’s classic story, is the Seventh Annual Pogorzelski-Yankee Prize-winning composition, sponsored by the American Guild of Organists. The premiere will take place in DiCicco Hall of the Cogswell Music Building on the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  IUP faculty organist Christine Clewell and seven IUP alumni will play the works eleven movement that unfold the tale of Ichabod, Katrina, and the Headless Horseman, with dancers choreographed by IUP professor Joan Van Dyke.  The performance will be streams and available for later viewing on the Pogorzelski-Yankee page of the AGO’s website at www.agohq.org 

November 15/16 – Barone (’68) is moderator on campus for alumni discussion during the Flentrop 50th Anniversary celebrating the Flentrop pipe organ in Warner Concert Hall at the Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio.  Details tba.
